Holiness to the Lord

Hi. This week was good.

I don't know วัด to write anymore.

I went ice skating last week.

We had interviews with President Johnson. I love him. Best Mission President.

Talked with some people on the streets. It's hot.

Went on a switch off with Elder Ridd. He's cool. Good missionary. He's probably going to Laos.

The drawing of the Bangkok, Thailand Temple is out. I'm excited. It looks way cool. It's also like 6 stories high and the spire is almost the same height as the temple. So it'll be one of the tallest buildings in that area. It might possibly be the tallest temple. I don't know though. It's going to be built at the present time Mission Office. It should spark a fire for missionary work for all the members and missionaries in Thailand. Another 3-4 years and it will be built.

For this week I want to share a talk from the April 2017 General Conference. It's called "Drawing the Power of Jesus Christ into Our Lives" by President Russell M. Nelson. It reads:

"Many of us have cried out from the depths of our hearts a variation of this woman's words: "If I could spiritually stretch enough to draw the Savior's power into my life, I would know how to handle my heart-wrenching situation. I would know what to do. And I would have the power to do it."

When you reach up for the Lord's power in your life with the same intensity that a drowning person has when grasping and gasping for air, power from Jesus Christ will be yours. When the Savior knows you truly want to reach up to Him—when He can feel that the greatest desire of your heart is to draw His power into your life—you will be led by the Holy Ghost to know exactly what you should do.

When you spiritually stretch beyond anything you have ever done before, then His power will flow into you. And then you will understand the deep meaning of words we sing in the hymn "The Spirit of God":

The Lord is extending the Saints' understanding. …
The knowledge and power of God are expanding;
The veil o'er the earth is beginning to burst.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is filled with His power, which is available to every earnestly seeking daughter or son of God. It is my testimony that when we draw His power into our lives, both He and we will rejoice."

I encourage you all to read it. It's a way good talk and especially with Easter coming up and General Conference it's a good idea to prepare ourselves spiritually for it. We need to listen to the Prophet's counsel and draw on the power of Jesus Christ into our lives.

We need to "reach up for the Lord's power in your life with the same intensity that a drowning person has when grasping and gasping for air, power from Jesus Christ will be yours."

I love you all and miss everyone.

My Boy Had Concerns Like a Thousand

Hello Family and Friends. หนูชื่อเอ็ลเดอร์
Another awesome week in Bangkapi.
Monday, I went to get a suit cut for 1/6 of the price foreigners usually pay for. My old suit was to big for me because I was a fatty before my mission.

Tuesday, met with the investigator who is dreaming of Jesus Christ but still doesn't think it's the answer to her prayers.

Wednesday, I went on a switch off with Elder Escher in Saphan Sung. He was in the group before my group. He's a way good missionary and has heaps of faith.

Thursday, we found out one of our Investigators with a baptismal date is having some problems with a commandment that wasn't previously known. But we watched the Restoration Video with her and it was so good. I love the Restoration so much and the spirit was so strong.

Friday I went on a switch off with Elder Julander. Cool story. When I was in the office, he was the only Elder coming from the MTC so he spent the day with us his first day. So I'm technically his first trainer. Way fire, genius missionary from Idaho. He worked as the coder for BYU Idaho and graduated high school at like 16. His knowledge of the Gospel is way good and has a strong fire for the work too!

Saturday was Zone Conference. It was way good. Learned some more stuff about the Restoration of the Gospel and humility and obedience and planning. Very good stuff. President Johnson is the best mission president.

Sunday, is always my favorite day. A random former investigator that we tried to call earlier in the week called us and said she was going to church. Miracles. We're meeting with her next week. Also, the Investigator with the dreams came and went to the Self-Reliance fireside after too and had a good experience.

As I said earlier, the Restoration of the Gospel through Joseph Smith is my favorite lesson to teach and talk about. It's the reason why we have the truths we have today. Why we know about the Plan of Salvation, why we have the priesthood, why we have a living prophet, and the list goes on. It's been a blessing in my life to have this knowledge of the truth. Even though most of the people here are Buddhist, the Restoration has meaning to them because it's about God's love for his children that never changes no matter what time period it is. He loves us know as much as he loved his children back than. There is never the spirit stronger in a lesson than when after you hear the First Vision. It testifies of the truthfulness of this message. Joseph Smith did see Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. Through Joseph Smith, we have Christ's original church on this earth again. We are so blessed to be born in the last dispensation where we have the blessings of the Gospel.
 Love you guys! ไม่ว่าง. โอกาสหน้า

It is Hot

วัสดีๆ It's crazy how fast time is flying. This was another great week in Bangkapi. My child is so
awesome. The days are getting hotter which means it's almost Song Kran.

I honestly can't remember the week haha. It's all blending together.

We went to Dream World last week. Another Amusement Park. Way fun. Siam Park is better tho.

But we did find some LA's on the way to places so it was very cool.

Ate some french toast and Texas Chicken. Mcdonald's is good here. Apparently KFC is the most popular fast food place in all of Asia.

Taught people about Jesus Christ.

Got invited to go to a bar with a random guy from the street.

Sister Bun came to church. She's the wife of a member who recently got baptized. We're hoping to meet with her this week if the stars align.

I love being a missionary even when I have to deal with people's agency. Today I want to share a verse in the scriptures in 3 Nephi 4:7-10
7 And it came to pass that they did come up to battle; and it was in the sixth month; and behold, great and terrible was the day that they did come up to battle; and they were girded about after the manner of robbers; and they had a lamb-skin about their loins, and they were dyed in blood, and their heads were shorn, and they had head-plates upon them; and great and terrible was the appearance of the armies of Giddianhi, because of their armor, and because of their being dyed in blood.
8 And it came to pass that the armies of the Nephites, when they saw the appearance of the army of Giddianhi, had all fallen to the earth, and did lift their cries to the Lord their God, that he would spare them and deliver them out of the hands of their enemies.
9 And it came to pass that when the armies of Giddianhi saw this they began to shout with a loud voice, because of their joy, for they had supposed that the Nephites had fallen with fear because of the terror of their armies.
10 But in this thing they were disappointed, for the Nephites did not fear them; but they did fear their God and did supplicate him for protection; therefore, when the armies of Giddianhi did rush upon them they were prepared to meet them; yea, in the strength of the Lord they did receive them.

Just a couple of scriptures I liked. Even though the Gadianton Robbers were scary looking, the Nephites didn't fear them but they feared their God and trusted in Him to deliver them from evil. Don't be afraid of the modern day Gadianton Robbers who might not look the same but have the same intentions of hurting you spiritually. Trust the Lord in all your actions and know what the end goal is. The scary things on Earth aren't as scary when you realize the Lord is on your side. That's what scares the enemies of God the most. God wins every time. Don't choose the wrong team. It's always better to be on the winning team. I love you all! Have a fantastic week!

I also forgot to mention Brother Guh got baptized.

The Prophet is Coming to ประเทศไทย

Hello. This week has been another great week as always. I love being a missionary. It's so awesome. Everyone should do it. It's something that will bless your life forever.

This past week we found out President Russell M. Nelson, and Elder Jeffrey R. Holland are coming to Thailand!!! It's so awesome that a prophet of the Lord is coming here. It'll help the members here a lot, especially with the temple coming soon. Also, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland has always been one of my favorite speakers. So fire. I'm so excited for April 20th.
My companion is doing well. He's such a good greenie.

This past week, the mission put an emphasis on finding new people to teach and through prayer and faith we found a lot of new investigators. It was way cool. Hopefully they'll all progress and be baptized.

Cool story this week was we were going home and it was late so we had to get a taxi. 7 taxis turned us down for whatever reason and we finally got a taxi on the 8th try. We started talking with the taxi driver and it turns out he goes to church by our church and has a bunch of children that goes to church there. He wanted to go to our church because our church is closer than his church, and because we taught him a little of the Restoration. It was way cool. At first I was upset that all the taxis turned us down but in the end, it was all in God's plan.

We met this other cool guy named Guy or Chicken. He drives vans and speaks English way well. He wants to go to church because at church everyone is happy and smiling. It's cool. He told us he was going to change his work schedule to go, but he wasn't there haha.

One of our Investigators who is closest to Baptism but is still not sure about being baptized had a dream about the church, which is one of the way the Lord answers our prayers. You just have to recognize it as what it is. So she might be getting baptized soon. 😁

I don't remember if I told you about the investigator who said smoking was good for the O-Zone because it creates clouds but he decided to abandon his environmental efforts and quit smoking. He hasn't been smoking for over a week now.

Today I want to share a famous talk by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland which I'm sure most of you have read or heard or remember but I like it a lot. It's in the October 1999 General Conference called "An High Priest of Good Things to Come" I want to share a little portion of it.

"To any who may be struggling to see that light and find that hope, I say: Hold on. Keep trying. God loves you. Things will improve. Christ comes to you in His "more excellent ministry" with a future of "better promises." He is your "high priest of good things to come."
I think of newly called missionaries leaving family and friends to face, on occasion, some rejection and some discouragement and, at least in the beginning, a moment or two of homesickness and perhaps a little fear.
I think of young mothers and fathers who are faithfully having their families while still in school—or just newly out—trying to make ends meet even as they hope for a brighter financial future someday. At the same time, I think of other parents who would give any earthly possession they own to have a wayward child return.
I think of single parents who face all of this but face it alone, having confronted death or divorce, alienation or abandonment, or some other misfortune they had not foreseen in happier days and certainly had not wanted.
I think of those who want to be married and aren't, those who desire to have children and cannot, those who have acquaintances but very few friends, those who are grieving over the death of a loved one or are themselves ill with disease. I think of those who suffer from sin—their own or someone else's—who need to know there is a way back and that happiness can be restored. I think of the disconsolate and downtrodden who feel life has passed them by, or now wish that it would pass them by. To all of these and so many more, I say: Cling to your faith. Hold on to your hope. "Pray always, and be believing." Indeed, as Paul wrote of Abraham, he "against [all] hope believed in hope" and "staggered not … through unbelief." He was "strong in faith" and was "fully persuaded that, what [God] had promised, he was able … to perform."
Even if you cannot always see that silver lining on your clouds, God can, for He is the very source of the light you seek. He does love you, and He knows your fears. He hears your prayers. He is your Heavenly Father, and surely He matches with His own the tears His children shed."

Sorry it's a little long but I love that part a lot. The whole talk is way good and I wish I could share all of it but I'll let you all read it yourselves. He talks about some trials people go through. Through all the trials and obstacles we face in life, focusing on the Savior and his teachings will help us through the hardest of times. We need to trust in Heavenly Father and his promised blessings. We need to focus on the future and the promise of good things to come. It will make the hard times better. There have been many hardships that I've experienced on my mission, but what I noticed helped me through them is focusing on the Savior and others. God does not take pleasure in us suffering. He is our loving Heavenly Father. We all knew what we were getting ourselves into when we accepted his plan. He is sad when we are sad. He is happy when we obey the commandments and help his children. To any of you going through trials in life right now, I recommend to read this talk, and to trust in God and his plan he has for each and everyone one of you. Sometimes we don't understand, but it's all for our good. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love you more than you can comprehend. We just need to put our trust in them. I love you all and miss everyone. Have a great week.
